There are many different badges which are earned in your time in Cubs. Some will have been moved over from your time in Beavers, others will be be new. These are broken down into diffferent categories and are sewn onto the Cubs jumper in the same locations as the Beavers jumper:
- Activity badges – located on the left arm – these are not carried over from Beavers and will need to be earned again
- Staged activity badges – located on the left arm can be carried forward to Cubs from Beavers
- Core badges – located on the front left of the jumper – can be carried forward to Cub from Beavers
- Challenge Award badges – located on the front right of the jumper – these are not carried over from Beavers and will need to be earned again
- Group badges – located on the right arm can be carried over from Beavers to Cubs
Activity Badges
For Cubs these are circular badges with a red centre. They are located on the left arm. They allow Cub Scout to show their progress in existing pursuits, but also to try all kinds of new things and form new interests:
Staged Activity Badges
These are circular badges with a blue centre. They are located on the left arm. Each badge has a number of stages of increasing difficulty which is shown as a number on the badge. These badges can all be carried forward to cubs and scouts:
Core Badges
The core badges are obtained when joining or moving on from the Pack, or for time spent in the Scouting movement. They are located on the front left of the jumper. In Cubs they are the following:

Challenge Award Badges
Earning a challenge award involves accomplishing a number of ambitious tasks. The badges are hexagonal with a blue background and are placed on the right side of the jumper. Cubs take part in a range of activities to develop thier skills in each of the challenge areas:
